The medical office of Gelsey Goodstein, MD is located at Apex Multispecialty Medical Clinic, just a few blocks south of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Goodstein's practice is patient-centered and focused on your overall well being. She specializes in internal medicine and primary care, managing adult patients of all ages. Her prior years of experience as a hospitalist at Cedars-Sinai has provided her with invaluable insights into the management of complex medical conditions, and has afforded her the ability to link patients with exceptional specialty practioners when indicated. Dr. Goodstein offers her patients a collaborative and individualized approach to care, with careful attention to preventative medicine and general health maintenance.

 

About Gelsey L. Goodstein MD

Dr. Goodstein has been a private practice Internal Medicine Hospitalist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center since 2014. Currently, she serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Genesis Hospitalist Medical Group. Dr. Goodstein also served as a physician advocate at Cedars-Sinai for four years, participating in daily multidisciplinary meetings directed at quality improvement and enhancing safety in the discharge process. 

 

Dr. Goodstein graduated from UCLA in 2006 with a B.S. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. She was in the College honors program, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She participated in 2 years of bench research and contributed to two publications in the field of molecular genetics.

 

Dr. Goodstein then obtained her medical degree from New York Medical College in 2010. She went on to complete her Internal Medicine Residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center/West Los Angeles VA in 2013. She was selected by the program director and her peers to stay on for an extra year as a chief resident. In addition to a variety of administrative responsibilities, she helped lead academic conferences, served as a clinical instructor on ward service, and proctored house staff in outpatient clinics. Additionally, she helped select residency applicants for the next training year. She also had a strong research interest in the area of diabetes and metabolism, and worked closely with her mentors at the VA to co-author a publication for the peer-reviewed medical journal, Diabetes Care.

 

Dr. Goodstein is certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband, son, and three miniature dachshunds. In her spare time, she enjoys earning milestone badges on her Peloton bike, cooking, and going for hikes in her neighborhood.

She is contracted with Medicare and most PPO insurance plans (Blue Cross, Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, and Aetna). Please inquire with the office staff.

We will continue to offer the option of telemedicine visits during the COVID-19 threat. However, we are strictly adhering to the highest safety standards, as devised by Los Angeles county officials, for all in-person visits.
